I redesigned the data sheets and brochures for Oxford Lasers to have a new appearance and content. The actual appearance was based on data sheets from another part of the business that were not designed in-house. I modified the appearance to be appropriate for the imaging equipment, created artwork and images, rewrote the copy to better describe the benefits of the products and ensured that the data sheets had a consistent appearance across all of the imaging products.

Envision System brochure

The new design features a large “hero” image on the front, along with the product name. All the system information appears on the rear of the two-page documents, or on the inside spread of the four-page documents.

Copy

The copy was carefully written to make the benefits of the products very clear and give a potential customer a reason to enquiry further about it. I chose not to obsess about the product’s specifications since these can vary from one system to another (we generally pick the most appropriate components at quotation time, which may be many months after the data sheet is sent to a client). The new sales documents give the imaging division a unified marketing appearance, and are a useful sales tool when speaking with and meeting new customers.
